ONE LOVE SCHOOL PROJECTS
The International Society organises various school projects for you to get involved in. The RocketWorld, Bee Hippy Happy and Earth Asylum projects will take you out to local schools so you can share your culture with the children. The projects feature the EarthBall: a giant inflatable Earth with NASA satellite imagery and volunteers from over 10 different countries.
International 16 is a diverse group of 16 students from 16 different countries. The group provides the inspiration and creativity for cultural evenings promoting international peace and friendship, celebrating cultural diversity and connecting with people around the world.
The 16 students change each year and are selected during the last two weeks of September. The interviews are relaxed and informal and are carried out by previous members of the 16.
The project requires students to be in Manchester from October to the following May with one evening meeting per week and one weekend every fortnight. There is no cost if you are selected to be part of the group.
This year’s International 16 has now been selected. Thank you to everyone that came along for an interview. We’re sorry we couldn’t take you all!

QUESTIONS ABOUT INTERNATIONAL 16?
The Hospitality Scheme arranges for students to visit a British home on a number of occasions during their time in Manchester. This gives them the chance to experience something of everyday British life. Once linked with a family, students are invited to the home to share in a meal, perhaps Sunday lunch, afternoon tea or even a day trip out with the family.
To apply to take part please click on the link below. Please note that the Hospitality Scheme is available only to International Society members.
Unfortunately, due to high demand, we may not always be able to link you with a family, but we will always get back to you and let you know either way.
THE SCHEME IS CURRENTLY CLOSED TO APPLICATIONS
due to the large amount of interest.
We hope to re-open the scheme to applications later in the year.
Come along and meet families, children and babies from all over the world. The group meets on Thursdays from 3.30pm and there is a selection of toys and children’s books available for all to play with, as well as organised activities and tea and biscuits!
Members of the group also benefit from day trips out with the Society throughout the year.
