International Society

The International Society is part of The University of Manchester’s Student Union. Our aim is to enhance both home and international student’s time at university. We host a range of weekly socials, large events and trips.

Everyone is welcome to join our community!

What an exciting new chapter coming to study here in Manchester with so many things to do and see. And yet it can be daunting and scary at the same time.

It’s completely normal to feel anxious in the midst of the excitement. We have all been in the same boat! Here at the Society, we are here to support you as you settle into student life and most importantly to help you make new friends from all over the world.

We are located in the activities office on the 1st floor of the Students Union Building just off The Hive.

You can also drop by during one of our weekly socials every Wednesday and Friday 3-5pm in The Nest, located on the ground floor of the Students’ Unions Building just off The Exhibition Space.

FAQs

I have tried to purchase a ticket and it says, "Insufficient Inventory"?

Unfortunately this indicates that tickets are now sold out. We will try to expand trips as much as possible, but please note we are not always able to do so.

I have made a purchase but not received my ticket!

If this issue is to occur, please check your junk folder. Also, if you have used ApplePay or GooglePay, please check the email address that the payment account is linked to.

How can I get a refund?

Please refer to our refund policy, attached to each trip. There is a different refund policy depending on the type of event. In most cases, we will try to process your refund as soon as possible, and it can take up to 5-10 days for funds to reappear in your account. Visa Assistance

We are not able to provide any legal advice about visas. Please refer to the University's visa team at: visa@manchester.ac.uk

When are the social events, and how can I join?

Socials are held every Wednesday and Friday in The Nest, in the Student Union Building, between 3-5pm. Please feel free to join us, and a ticket is not required for the majority of events, please refer to the individual event listing for more information.

International 12

We are unfortunately currently not running our International 12 Programme at this time. Please stay tuned for any future updates for this.
